How are waves formed?

Everybody loves waves, don’t you? Have you ever wondered how waves are formed well then you are in the right place keep reading for more.

Waves are usually formed when wind blows against the ocean. The sun and moons gravitational force also causes waves in the ocean.

What are coastlines?

Have you ever made a sand castle then you went for a swim and when you come back its gone. Well that’s because of coastlines or either a cold-hearted man had destroyed but mainly it's because of coastlines. A coastline is where the ocean and land meet together. Have you ever wondered why there is sand in the bottom of the water in beaches? Well that’s because of coastlines whenever a wave comes onto land it erodes sand and rock and takes it back to the ocean.

How are tides formed?

Tides are formed by the sun and moons gravitational force. There are different types of tides like low tides which is when water is at its lowest point whereas high tides is when water is at its highest point. They both occur twice a day.

There are spring tides that are strong tides and happen at a full moon or a new moon when the sun, moon and earth are lined up.

The last types of tides are Neap tides. They occur in between spring tides at the first and third quarter of the moon when the sun and moon pull at right angles to each other. They are weak tides. Whenever the moon is away from the water the tides are lower but when its closer, they become bigger.
